1. Isolate the battery and support the stern drive assembly securely before loosening or removing drive and transom hardware.
2. Compare the removed U-joint bellows, exhaust bellows, 1-inch inlet water hose and sealing items directly against the supplied components prior to installation.
3. Clean and inspect all transom housing and pivot housing mating surfaces so old adhesive, corrosion or debris do not interfere with seating.
4. Install the bellows, water hose and seals without twisting or pinching the convolution folds, following the orientation, clamp positioning and fastener procedures specified in your Volvo Penta SX-C or SX-M service manual.
