GHMarine single-engine upper + lower 4-inch exhaust kit — one 32-44348T upper and one 32-14358T lower for the same center-rise wet-exhaust path, plus four stainless hose clamps. This is a GHMarine internal combination — there is no Mercury parent kit number. It is not a water-shutter kit and not a twin-engine pack.

Which kit is this?

On a center-rise 4-inch wet exhaust, the upper boot joins the center-mounted riser to the 4-inch exhaust elbow; the lower boot joins that elbow to the 4-inch Y-pipe. This kit services both rubber connectors on one engine in one box.

It is not a water shutter / flapper (807166A1 / A2 / A3), not a twin-engine upper+lower+shutter kit (GH 18BS002), not a 2× lower-only pack (GH 18BK001), and not a transom U-joint or bell-housing bellow.

Signs yours is due

• Same engine shows both riser→elbow soot and elbow→Y-pipe water marks — upper 32-44348T and lower 32-14358T are aging together.
• Cooling water drips into the bilge from the 4-inch wet-exhaust path while running (engine-bay connectors, not a transom bell-housing bellow leak).
• Cabin smells of exhaust / CO concern after heat-soak; both boots feel glazed or collapsed — service the pair, not one boot alone.
• Divert: you only need two lowers → GH 18BK001. Twin engines + 807166A3 shutters → GH 18BS002. Oval flapper 807166A1 → shutter page, not this kit.

Will it fit my drive?

This single-engine combination is Compatible with select MerCruiser center-rise 4-inch wet-exhaust layouts that simultaneously use both 32-44348T (upper) and 32-14358T (lower). Catalog start band for the lower family is about 1987 & up — years or V6/V8 labels alone do not prove fit. Confirm both OEM numbers, mounting positions, and engine/exhaust serial.

Install tips in the engine bay

Engine-bay wet-exhaust connector work — not a sterndrive bell-housing bellow job. Cold engine, disconnect battery per the service manual. If you are not comfortable opening the 4-inch wet-exhaust path, use a marine shop. Do NOT copy pull-drive / bellows-adhesive / expander steps from a transom boot listing.

1. Confirm both boots: upper 32-44348T (riser→elbow) and lower 32-14358T (elbow→Y-pipe) on the same engine.
2. Support the joints; loosen clamps; remove the old boots; clean mating surfaces on riser, elbow, and Y-pipe.
3. Seat each new boot fully without twist or kink; place clamps on the correct clamp lands.
4. Tighten clamps to the service-manual specification for that assembly (no universal torque invented on this page).
5. Run and check for water / exhaust leaks and normal temperature before returning the boat to service.

Is this a Mercury OEM kit number?

No. 18BS001 is a GHMarine internal combination of one lower 32-14358T, one upper 32-44348T, and four clamps. There is no Mercury parent kit number for this pack.

Is this a water-shutter kit (807166A1)?

No. Historical folder names may still mention 807166A1, but that number is a water shutter / flapper — not this product. This box has rubber upper and lower 4-inch bellows only.

Will this fit every MerCruiser V6/V8?

No. The same engine must use both the 32-44348T upper and 32-14358T lower on a center-rise 4-inch wet-exhaust layout. Confirm both numbers and serial — displacement or year alone is not enough.

I have twin engines — should I buy this?

This box is sized for one engine (1 upper + 1 lower + 4 clamps). For two engines with matching 807166A3 shutters, see GH 18BS002. Or buy two of this SKU if you only need bellows and no shutters.
