32-32461 5/8-Inch Transom Water Intake Hose · Fits MerCruiser Early I R MR Alpha One, Replaces 18-3601, 47120, 32-32461A1

GHMarine 5/8-inch water intake hose for the bell-housing / transom raw-water circuit on select early MerCruiser / R / MR / Alpha One assemblies. Primary OEM 32-32461 (also 32-32461A1). Catalog size about 13-7/8 inches long × 5/8-inch I.D..

Ships as one standalone molded water-intake hose. This is not a complete transom repair kit (no bellows, gimbal bearing, or multi-hose kit). Clamp count is not locked on this page — confirm against your package. Do not substitute the larger 3/4-inch hose family.

Which hose is this?

It is the single 5/8-inch molded hose in the sterndrive bell-housing / transom water-intake route. Molded length and bend matter — a generic black rubber hose cut to length is not a correct substitute.

It is not the 3/4-inch Alpha / Gen II intake hose (32-41725-33 — GH 18H1003), not the Bravo Design I hose (32-43437 — GH 18H1001), and not an engine-bay circulating-pump molded hose.

Signs yours is due

  • Early I / IA / IB / IC or early R–Alpha boats: the smaller 5/8-inch intake hose is chalky, cracked, or soft at the bell-housing ports.
  • Overheat with a known-good impeller on an older SN band (e.g. toward 6225577–0F386995) — the 5/8-inch hose may be pinched flatter than a modern 3/4-inch hose would be.
  • You measured the old hose I.D. at 5/8-inch (not 3/4-inch) and the stamp reads 32-32461 / 32-32461A1 — that is this page.
  • Divert: your old hose is clearly 3/4-inch 32-41725-33 → GH 18H1003 / 19H1002 family. Bravo Design I stamp 32-43437 → already-listed Bravo hose page, not 19H1001.

Will it fit my drive?

This 5/8-inch intake hose is Compatible with select MerCruiser Early I / IA / IB / IC and R / MR / Alpha One assemblies whose parts record specifies 32-32461 / 32-32461A1. Year or horsepower alone does not prove fit — confirm hose number, 5/8-inch I.D., routing, and sterndrive / transom serial.

Install tips on the transom water circuit

Bell-housing / transom raw-water hose work. Cold engine; disconnect battery; support the drive / follow the service manual for access. This is a water hose — not an exhaust bellow. Do not use bellows adhesive or a bellows expander.

  1. Match the old hose number, 5/8-inch I.D., ~13-7/8-inch length, and routing before removal; photograph clamp positions. Do not install a 3/4-inch hose here.
  2. Drain / catch water as needed; loosen clamps; remove the old hose; clean mating tubes and check for corrosion or sharp edges.
  3. Seat the new hose fully on the correct ports without twist or kink; place clamps on the clamp lands.
  4. Tighten to the service-manual specification for that assembly (no universal torque invented on this page).
  5. Run and check for leaks and normal raw-water flow / temperature before returning the boat to service.

FAQ

Why is this hose smaller than the 3/4-inch Alpha hose I see online?

Because 19H1001 is the 5/8-inch 32-32461 family used on earlier I / IA / IB / IC and select early R–Alpha paths. 3/4-inch 32-41725-33 is a different SKU.

My SN is in the 6225577–0F386995 sterndrive band — is that enough?

It is a starting clue only. Still confirm 32-32461 / 32-32461A1 on the old hose or EPC and measure 5/8-inch I.D.

Can I buy the 3/4-inch hose and force it on?

No. Wrong I.D. risks leaks and clamp damage. 3/4-inch family is GH 18H1003 / 19H1002 — only if your old hose is truly 3/4-inch.

Is 30-803097T1 the parent number for this listing?

No. That is a full transom service kit that may contain this hose. 19H1001 sells the single 5/8-inch hose only.

Is this the already-listed Bravo Design I hose?

No. Bravo Design I is 32-43437. This page is the smaller 5/8-inch bell-housing / transom intake hose.

Do I need bellows adhesive for a 5/8-inch intake hose?

No. Clamp the water hose per the service manual — do not copy exhaust-bellow adhesive / expander steps.

Please note

Aftermarket replacement by GHMarine. Not affiliated with engine manufacturers named above. "Compatible with", "Replaces", and cross-ref numbers identify the 32-32461 5/8-inch family — always confirm hose number, I.D., length, routing, serial, and package contents before ordering.
