32-43437 Water Intake Hose Design I · Fits MerCruiser Bravo transom assemblies and Blackhawk, Replaces 32-8M0090859, 18-3603, 47130

GHMarine water intake hose for the Bravo transom water-intake circuit — the molded hose that carries incoming cooling water through the transom assembly. Replaces OEM 32-43437 and current service number 32-8M0090859. Also matches cross-refs 18-3603, 47130, 9-73003, and REC32-43437. Fits compatible Bravo transom / drive assemblies and Blackhawk 1994–1995 when your parts record and serial match the table below.

Ships as one Design I molded water-intake hose + two hose clamps. This is Design I geometry only — not Bravo Design II hose 32-8M0062102.

Which hose is this?

This is the molded Bravo transom water-intake hose (Design I). It sits in the transom water-intake circuit and routes raw cooling water through the Bravo transom assembly. It is not an Alpha bell-housing water hose, not an engine-side circulating-pump molded hose, and not a rubber exhaust bellow.

If you are not sure, check the number stamped on the old hose or the parts diagram: look for 32-43437 / 8M0090859 Design I — that is what this SKU replaces.

Signs yours is due

  • Cracking, hardening, soft spots, swelling, or abrasion on the molded hose.
  • Water leakage around the transom water-intake circuit, or water collecting in the bilge near the transom.
  • Restricted raw-water flow, rising engine temperature, or overheating after the hose collapses or kinks.
  • Spring inspection: flattened ends, rusty clamps, or a hose that no longer matches Design I routing — replace before the season.

Will it fit my drive?

This replacement Design I water-intake hose is Compatible with MerCruiser Bravo transom / drive assemblies whose Where Used record specifies 32-43437 or 8M0090859, and with Blackhawk 1994–1995. A Bravo name alone does not prove fit — confirm the original hose number, Design I geometry, and drive/transom serial against the table below before you order.

Install tips on the transom water-intake circuit

Work with the cooling system drained as needed. If you are not comfortable opening the transom water circuit, use a marine shop.

  1. Confirm the original hose number and Design I routing before removing the old hose.
  2. Loosen both clamps; pull off the old molded hose; inspect passages for corrosion, scale, sharp edges, or blockage.
  3. Route the new hose in the same orientation — no twist, kink, or contact with moving parts.
  4. Seat both ends fully; place both clamps behind the sealing beads; tighten to the service-manual specification.
  5. Supply cooling water, run the system, and check for leaks and normal water flow before returning the boat to service.

FAQ

Will this water hose fit every Bravo drive?

No. This SKU is Design I only (32-43437 / 8M0090859 family). Bravo Design II uses 32-8M0062102. Fitment must follow the original hose number, Design I geometry, and the drive/transom serial / Where Used record — horsepower alone does not prove fit.

Is 32-8M0090859 a different product from 32-43437?

No — 32-8M0090859 is the current service number that supersedes legacy 32-43437. Same Design I hose family. Still compare geometry to your old hose before install.

How do I know my water-intake hose is bad?

Look at the molded hose on the Bravo transom water-intake circuit. Common signs: cracks, soft or brittle rubber, leaks into the bilge near the transom, kinks, or overheating from restricted raw-water flow. If the number on the old hose is 32-8M0062102, you need Design II — not this listing.

What comes in the box?

One Design I molded water-intake hose plus two hose clamps. No exhaust bellow, no Alpha water hose, and no engine-side circulating-pump hose.

Is this the same as an Alpha 3/4-inch or 5/8-inch hose?

No. Alpha hoses use different part numbers, diameters, and platforms (32-41725-33 / 8M0062309 or 32-32461). This listing is Bravo Design I transom intake only.

Do I need bellows adhesive or an expander tool?

No. This is a clamped molded water hose on the transom intake circuit — not a sterndrive exhaust bellow. Seat the ends, clamp behind the beads, and verify water flow. Adhesive / expander (91-45497A1) is for bellow jobs such as 17B1003.

Please note

Aftermarket replacement part. Not affiliated with engine manufacturers named above. "Compatible with", "Replaces", and cross-ref numbers mean this part is built to work like the originals listed — always confirm fit with your drive/transom serial number and parts diagram.
