Which pump is this?

This is a VRO fuel/oil pump for Johnson / Evinrude 60-degree V4 90 / 115 HP 2-stroke outboards. 4-wire replacement 5007420 covers 1991–2006 90 / 115 HP rows. 5007423 is the 3-wire-to-4-wire kit on 1984–1990 90 / 115 HP rows. Predecessors: 5004558 / 5004559 / 5004562 and 438400. Compatible with the four groups in the table. It is not 5007421 (that small 4-wire pump is for 40–50 HP / 60 TTL, zero rows on this 90/115 table). It is not 5007422 premix conversion, and not the 90° V4 / V6 non-oiling 1399-07352 pump.

Signs yours is due

• 90 / 115 HP V4 smokes, or oil tank stays full while the motor runs lean on oil — VRO not pumping.
• No-oil horn with a dry oil hose at a 4-wire pump on a 60° V4.
• Fuel at the VRO body after a pulse-limiter failure; motor still 2-stroke V4 with oil tank.
• Not electric pump 5032617. Not a 3-cyl 60/70 (21FP006).

Will it fit?

Compatible with Johnson / Evinrude 90 HP and 115 HP 60° V4 2-stroke groups: 5007423 on 1984–1990, 5007420 on 1991–2006. Match stamp and wire count. Not 120–140 HP 90° V4 and not V6 150–200 premix conversion (21FP008). Horsepower 90 on a later 4-stroke is a different pump entirely.

Engine horsepower alone does not prove fit. Match the number stamped on the pump you remove to the OEM column.

Install

Confirm 60° V4 90 / 115, not 3-cyl 60/70 and not 90° V6. Photograph oil, fuel, pulse, and plug. 1984–90 motors often need the 5007423 3-to-4-wire kit style. Do not fit 5007422 unless you are abandoning VRO for premix. Prime oil and fuel, then verify the oil line moves after start.

If it is a 60° V4 2-stroke in 1984–2006 as in the table, yes — match 5007420 vs 5007423. 4-stroke 115 HP is not this pump.
