- Clean and inspect the transom shield and drive mounting necks so that all sealing surfaces for the bellows and water pipe are free of corrosion, old sealant, or debris.
- Seat the U-joint bellows, exhaust bellows, and water pipe onto their mating necks without twisting or pinching the convolution folds, following the orientation and clamp positioning specified in the service manual for your exact drive.

No. The exhaust bellows in this kit is referenced to Volvo Penta 876631, which is the version without flappers. Flapper-valve versions (such as 875828 and 876633) are not confirmed to be interchangeable.
If my sterndrive uses U-joint bellows 876294, will this entire kit fit?
Not necessarily. Several Volvo Penta sterndrives share the 876294 U-joint bellows while using different exhaust bellows or water pipe versions. Check your full drive suffix and confirm that your drive also requires exhaust bellows 876631 and water pipe 875822.
